Belmont featured in a report by JNA Publications

Belmont, one of the companies participating in the Precious Brazil project—an initiative by the Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (IBGM) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to promote Brazilian companies abroad—was the subject of an article in the 2025 edition of Gems World, a publication by the renowned JNA Publications.

Recognized as a leading reference in the industry, JNA is a bilingual magazine (English and Chinese) catering to the B2B market, providing in-depth and relevant insights into the global gemstone and jewelry industry.

The article, titled “Belmont Carving a Brilliant Future for Brazilian Emeralds”, highlights Belmont’s role as a leader in emerald production and its strategic vision for strengthening the positioning of Brazilian gemstones in the international luxury market.

Quality, Sustainability, and Innovation as Pillars

Marcelo Ribeiro, President of Belmont Group, emphasized that 2024 was a promising year for emeralds, with global demand rising due to the growing appreciation for rare, high-quality materials. Ribeiro stated that focusing on quality over volume has been a crucial differentiator for the company.

“The improvement in the quality of Brazilian emeralds is transforming their global perception, increasing their appeal and value,” Ribeiro said.

The article also highlights Belmont’s focus on sustainable practices and responsible mining, aligning with the growing consumer preference for ethical and traceable gemstones. The United States, Europe, and India have emerged as key markets for Brazilian emeralds, with India standing out for its increasing demand for exclusive luxury items.

Innovation and New Horizons in 2025

According to the publication, Belmont will continue to invest in advanced mining technologies to ensure efficiency, stable production, and the highest quality emeralds. The article also notes the growing interest in colored gemstones as an alternative to diamonds, underscoring the role of emeralds in creating unique and sophisticated jewelry.

Ribeiro further highlighted optimism for the future despite global economic challenges. With potential interest rate reductions in the U.S. and global economic recovery, there is an expectation of increased interest in high-quality commodities like Brazilian emeralds.

Belmont’s participation in the Precious Brazil project reinforces Brazil’s position as a strategic player in the gemstone and jewelry industry. The Gems World article not only showcases Belmont’s excellence but also brings Brazilian emeralds into the spotlight on the global stage.
