During Women’s Month, data revealed by Precious Brazil indicates the advancement of women in strategic roles within the industry.
A statistic disclosed in a survey conducted by Precious Brazil, an initiative of the Brazilian Gems & Jewellery Trade Association (IBGM) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil), draws attention: women hold roles of significant importance in exports in 70% of companies.
This occurs in a scenario where 90% of companies, totaling 2,105, operate in a family-owned format, employing up to 9 employees. In 2022 alone, participants of Precious Brazil generated $131 million in revenue, marking a $25 million increase compared to 2021.
The data belongs to an industry overview, a survey from November 2023.
Not only in the export arena are women gaining ground, but also in other areas.Recently, in light of March 8th, Art’Ouro’s Instagram page made a post emphasizing the brand’s commitment to gender equality. Led by Vitória and Manuela Soares, the brand is a pioneer in the online sale of jewelry featuring genuinely Brazilian gems.
