The contacts made at the event could generate an additional USD 6 million in sales over the next 12 months
From September 16 to 20, 2024, the Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong trade show, one of the most important events in the global jewelry and gemstone industry, took place at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) in Hong Kong. The 30 participating brands from Precious Brazil, a sectoral project created by the Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (IBGM) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to promote Brazilian gem and jewelry companies abroad, generated USD 3,891,000 in immediate sales.
Among the Brazilian brands present were Atlanta Gems, Bart Gems, Beryno Gems, BC Gemas do Brasil, Belmont Mineração, BGC Brazil Gem, Brazil Paraiba Mine, Canelhas, Dreamstone, Duarte & Bastos, Empire Industries, Gembras Com e Ind, Gemextra, Itagemas, Itakolor Gemstones, J.G., JS Gems, Manoel Nogueira, Manoel Bernardes, PB Gems, Peter Valicek Gems, Pinkstones International, PM Carvings by Peter Muller, Primus Gemstones Brasil, R. Figueiredo Brazilian Gemstones, R.C. Gemas, R&R Gemas, Radaeli, Stone World, and Tavares Gems.
During the event, Brazil recorded 1,108 business contacts. The outlook for generating business over the next 12 months is also promising, with a projection of USD 6,916,000, reinforcing the appeal and quality of Brazilian gemstones. Additionally, Brazilian participation was marked by a high satisfaction rate among companies, with 100% positive evaluations and interest in participating in the next edition.
For the Brazilian gemstone market, the China and Hong Kong region is fundamental, being the second most significant destination for Precious Brazil’s exports. From January to July 2024, exports to this region totaled USD 24 million, marking a 50% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
The main markets served by Brazilian companies during the fair included Hong Kong, India, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Germany, United States, Thailand, and China, highlighting the global reach of Brazilian gemstones.
With over 40 thematic pavilions, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong continues to be a crucial meeting point for the global industry, connecting Brazilian companies to new buyers and strengthening Brazil’s image as a reliable and innovative supplier in the colored gemstone sector.
