From February 1 to 6 (Tuesday to Sunday), Brazilian companies participate in GJX Tucson 2022, one of the largest international gem fairs held in the United States.

Supported by Precious Brazil, a sectoral project created by IBGM – Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals in partnership with ApexBrasil – Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the brands Art’Ouro & Gemas, Bandeirantes, BC Gemas do Brasil, Belmont, Ben Sabbagh Bros., Beryno Gems, Bezim Gems, Brasil Gem Commerce, Canelhas, Di Grande Precious Gems, Duarte & Bastos, E & E Gemas, Emerson Gems, Empire Industries, Gemextra, H. Stones, Itagems, JS Gems, Manoel Nogueira , M Bernardes, Nevesgems, Niva Comercial Exportadora, OTF Gems, Peter Muller Carvings, Peter Valicek Gems, Radaeli, R & R Green Export Gems, R. Figueiredo, RC Gemas, Stone World, Tavares Gems, Veneranda and VS Gems, show great expectations for the event that opens the year of sales in the gems and jewelry sector.

Gemstones and mineral artifacts are the flagship of exports to the United States, considered the project’s main market. “Precious Brazil has been intensifying its actions to value the product, adopting strategies with opinion makers as well as adding greater value by increasing the design”, explains Clarissa Maciel, the project’s International Relations coordinator. “With this, the expectation is that the sales numbers and the presence of Brazilian companies in the international market will grow even more”.

Consolidated data for 2021 indicate that 42% of total exports of gemstones, jewelry, costume jewelry and veneers were destined for the American market. They reached USD 105,858,190, an increase of 60% over the previous year. Of the total exported in 2021, 41% correspond to the volume exported by companies in Precious Brazil.
