Precious Brazil, a sectoral project created through a partnership between the IBGM – Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals and ApexBrasil – Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, presents consolidated data on the commercial recovery of the gems and jewelry sector in relation to the year of 2020

The information released (table below) shows that there was a 67% increase in exports of colored gemstones. The jewelry sector showed a growth of 45% compared to the previous year.

In addition, it is worth noting that jewelry brands quickly adapted to the digital format and, therefore, showed a growth of 103% in 2021, even surpassing the numbers of 2019.

According to Clarissa Maciel, the project’s International Relations coordinator, Mineral Artifacts were largely responsible for leveraging this growth. “It is important to point out that all segments supported by the project experienced better days in the last year. The data are the result of actions to value Precious Brazil members, in addition to the strategies we have adopted with opinion makers and partners to add value by improving design”.
